With some serious hard work and incredible support from my family, friends, colleagues and clients, the accomplishments of this first year in business are so much greater than I could have imagined.
This first year included construction of two residential projects, completion of seven design and planning projects, winning a municipal trail project (as prime consultant), teaming with many friends, and working solo on several projects that will be in the works in the years ahead. I kept to my goal of maintaining a broad range of project types which includes residential, institutional, commercial, and municipal. Lastly, in just six months after opening, the business received certification as a NYS Women Owned Business, an extremely rigorous certification process with New York State.
Beyond the tangible things, this year has been a year of professional growth and reflection. The leap from a stable job (and paycheck) to becoming my own boss has been challenging at times, but has afforded me exceptional soul filling personal, work, and volunteer opportunities. For those who offered advice along the way, your words have been my mantra over this past year. Thank You for reminding me to, take small steps, stay in your lane, and just be you, and to my biggest supporter, thank you for reminding me that… it’s fine.
Looking forward to many more years of this adventure and anxious to see where it leads.
