RIT Institute Hall
Entry plaza and rain gardens for a new science building at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The design elements visually connect to the interior cafe with linear banding of materials and lighting. The accessible ramp is an integrated feature and lined with a concrete and cor-ten wall to enclose the seating area. The project includes extensive rain gardens to capture and store stormwater, contributing to the project’s LEED certification.
Sue Steele was responsible for site and landscape design, including the design of the focal entry courtyard and rain gardens, and LEED certification credit review.
